There seems to be a surge in coupon-related websites out there, hoping to help those whose spending habits have been forever altered as a result of the recent dip in the economy. We want to review a few of these websites in coming months to help save you time and – we hope – money.
Coupon Chief claims they are the “largest source of online coupons and store discounts for apparel, electronics, travel, entertainment and more!” And, after clicking through their website, it's apparent they have every store covered. Though, not all of the stores listed in their directory have coupons.
The site is organized similar to other coupon sites like Retail Me Not and Coupon Cabin where users seem to set-up a lot of the content. What seems to set them apart is their welcoming presence while you are online, “Pays-2-Share” program and how they place an emphasis on coupon codes for online shopping versus exploiting printable coupons.
I liked the ability to easily sign-up to their site and start adding coupon codes that I found online. Another neat feature of the site is that Coupon Chief will pay you 2% from any code you upload that results in a sale.
One down-side to the site is there are a few codes we tried which didn't work. Most notably, coming from fast food joints and restaurants.
My advice would be to make sure there is an expiration date by the code. This adds to the validity of the coupon. Better yet, see if there is a rating associated with it. Coupon Chief makes sure their site is current by deleting any expired codes.
Overall, we commend Coupon Chief for making coupon searching, easy and profitable!
