Fun Twitter accounts to follow that hold contests and giveaways

aaronI’ve been on Twitter for the better part of a year now – and have come across some great business accounts that offer giveaways and contests almost every week.

Check ’em out sometime. You may just come away with some extra money or a cool prize.

  • @Coinstar (Tuesday Trivia)
The change counting company and parent to Redbox holds a weekly Trivia contest. It usually starts at 1pm (PT) on Tuesdays and typically awards the 3-6 quickest responders to their first question with a $10-$20 gift card. Make sure you include the #TrivTues hashtag when playing.
  • @DSWShoeLovers (Free Shoes Friday)
Every Friday, DSW Shoe Warehouse holds a contest for free shoes on Twitter. All you have to do is tune in at 11am (CT) every Friday and be one of the first 10 responders to answer a question pertaining to DSW (usually found on their website). You have to be quick to win and will need to email tweepluv@dswinc.com with your answers.
  • @JasonsDeli (Tuesday Trivia)
Like Coinstar, restaurateur Jason’s Deli holds a Tuesday Trivia contest. Their questions aren’t always easy and require some digging – but the reward is typically a $20 gift card. The contest starts around 4pm (CT) and prizes go to the first responders.
  • @Dealsplus (Various giveaways)
Dealspl.us claims they have the “hottest deals and coupons on Twitter”. With over 100k followers, they hold giveaways every week. All you have to do is  follow them and retweet a specific tweet. Pretty easy.
  • @OfficeMaxDeal (Various giveaways)
The large office supply chain holds contests now and again to give away laptops and other merchandise. A follow and a retweet will usually get you entered into the drawing.
  • @BeFrugal (Various giveaways)
The coupon code and printable coupon site Be Frugal usually has a drawing going on. Right now they are giving away gift cards every day to followers and those who retweet a given tweet.

With a growing interest in social media and a desire to connect with its customers, there is bound to be more companies jumping into the giveaway fray.

Are there others I may have missed?
